Let us now consider some of the communications we could use during our work activity. There is a whole range, but the best is always a verbal, visual; we can see them, we can keep in constant communication. If, however, due to the size of the confined space, the person now goes out of sight, we may need to have radios. Radios are great, apart from distance, and structure can interfere with a radio. If that was the case, might have to revert to a simple whistle. Perhaps even an air horn, if the structure is very large. Lines can be used, the one tug or two tug. Even better though would be hardwired communications that are going to have to be set up inside a confined space where people are connected. The downside, it can be awkward. Having the wiring; will it reach? But you must have something in place so we can maintain constant communication.
