We are now going to simulate the gas alarm going off and the procedures we need to follow. It has now gone off. We shouting the word, "Gas! Gas! Gas!" Tell as many people as we can that we have a problem. Now I need to get my hood on.
Now I need to make my way out as quickly and calmly as possible. We have plenty of time. What I need to do now, I am in fresh air, I can start taking the equipment off. What I would be doing now is passing over my detector to the safety attendant. He will then be checking the readings. He will then turn it off as required. And then we need to do an incident report on what has occurred, who was involved, because there may need to be an investigation as to why we have now had an incident that required that the gas monitor go off and me to wear the escape set.
